Whistle for the Choir fue el tercer single de The Fratellis, y el primero después de Costello Music, por lo que en un principió se pensó que podria no tener tanto éxito. Sin embargo fue alabado por la crítica y llegó al puesto n° 9 en el ranking británico.

La canción se llamaba originalmente "Knickers in a Handbag", lo cual explica la portada del single. The Fratellis tuvo problemas con Fallout Records (la discográfica de Costello Music) al hacer el album por lo que tuvieron que cambiar el nombre a la canción, lo cual los hizo lanzar el single con una discográfica difirente.
